PH Ambassador Joins Lunch Hosted by Colombian Foreign Minister

BOGOTA 18 July 2018 — Colombian Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguín Cuéllar on 10 July 2018 hosted lunch at the Colombia Ministry of External Relations, Palacio de San Carlos for nine foreign envoys, including non-resident Ambassador of the Philippines to Colombia Marichu B. Mauro, ahead of their presentation of credentials to Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos.

During the event, Ambassador Mauro and all the other foreign envoys presented copies of their Letter of Credence to Minister Holguín.

Ambassador Mauro was very fortunate to be seated right next to the Foreign Minister during the luncheon. Ambassador Mauro and Foreign Minister Holguín talked about the many similarities between the Philippines and Colombia. The also assured each other of their respective countries’ commitment to deepen relations between the Philippines and Colombia.

Ambassador Mauro reiterated to the Foreign Minister her hope that the bilateral political consultations between the Philippine and Colombia will push through early next year.

After the lunch, all ambassadors were transported to Palacio de Nariño for the presentation of credentials ceremony with President Santos. END
