DOT Assistant Secretary Calls on PH Embassy Officials in Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 18 July 2018 – Assistant Secretary Roberto P. Alabado III of the Tourism Development Planning of the Department of Tourism (DOT) called on Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Pete Raymond V. Delfin and other officials of the Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam. Assistant Secretary Alabado was accompanied by Mr. Alex M. Macatuno, Chief of the Policy Formulation and International Cooperation Division of the DOT, on 06 July 2018.
The DOT officials were in Brunei to attend the 48th Meeting of ASEAN National Tourism Organizations (ASEAN NTOs), 33rd Meeting of the ASEAN, China, Japan and Republic of Korea National Organizations (ASEAN Plus Three), and the 20th ASEAN-India Working Group Meeting, held at V-Plaza Hotel in Kuala Belait.
During the DOT officials’ call at the Embassy, Assistant Secretary Alabado reported on their participation in the above ASEAN Meetings, and conveyed their admiration for Brunei’s tourist spots.
Meanwhile, Chargé d’Affaires Delfin discussed possible initiatives that could be undertaken by the Philippines and Brunei under the Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism Cooperation between the two countries.
Assistant Secretary Alabado chaired the Third ASEAN Tourism Marketing Partnership Working Group Meeting during the 48th ASEAN NTOs Meeting, as the Philippines is the lead country for the implementation of ASEAN Tourism Marketing Strategy 2017-2020. He also represented the Philippines in the ASEAN Public Toilet Auditor Training, organized by Brunei’s Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism. END
