Philippine Pavilion Rises in Quanzhou City, to Boost PH-Fujian Relations

XIAMEN 18 July 2018 — Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores visited the construction site of the proposed Philippine Pavilion located at Quanzhou City’s Window of East Asia Cultural and Creative Industry Park, and was given a brief tour of the complex.
President Huang Yunti warmly welcomed Consul General Flores and Zhonglang Group subsequently gave a briefing of the Park including the proposed Philippine Pavilion, which has an area of 3,153 square meters.
The Park, occupying almost four hectares, is a collaborative undertaking of Quanzhou City with the private sector, involving the Zhonglang and Zhongqiao Groups.
Consul General Flores welcomed the initiative to set up a Pavilion as a valuable contribution in providing a concrete platform in Fujian Province to promote the Philippines, its arts and culture, tourism, business, and trade and investment opportunities to the Chinese public.
During the discussions, Consul General Flores provided a host of sample activities that could be undertaken such as seminars and presentations, exhibitions and expositions, trade fairs, and cultural festivals and performances throughout the year, in partnership with private and public sectors from the Philippines and China.
Consul General Flores expressed his appreciation to Quanzhou City and the private sectors on this initiative, which will help intensify efforts to promote the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage, enhance economic cooperation, and strengthen people-to-people friendly exchanges between the Philippines and Fujian on one hand, and between the Philippines and China, on the other hand.
