18 December 2013 - Philippine Consul General Ma. Hellen Barber De La Vega attends the annual Parol (star lantern) Parade/Contest and Christmas Chorale Competition held at the Silverlake Medical Center in Historic Filipinotown, Los Angeles on December 14.

The Sixth Annual Parol Parade and contest was organized by the Historic Filipinotown Neighbourhood Council (HiFi) participated by community members where the winner of the Parol contest will be one of the featured parols at the start of the “Simbang Gabi” annual tradition mass celebrated at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels on December 15, 2013.

The event started with a mass followed with a procession of patron saint “Pedro Calungsod” on the Silverlake Medical Center grounds and a choral competition participated by different choral groups. END
