PEZA Briefs Egyptian Delegation on Investment Opportunities in PH

CAIRO 20 July 2018 – The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) conducted a briefing for delegates from the Egyptian General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) in Manila on 09 July 2018.

In her remarks, PEZA Director Charito B. Plaza welcomed the delegates from Egypt, and introduced the mandates, goals and performance of PEZA.

The briefing included an overview of PEZA ecozones nationwide, the strength of the Filipino workforce, and the other PEZA investment incentives. The briefing also highlighted the country’s efforts in improving ease of doing business, global competitiveness, and other policy reforms.

The PEZA briefing was a kick-off of GAFI’s one-week study tour of Philippine industrial parks. Their itinerary included visits to Information Technology and manufacturing zones in Metro Manila, Laguna, Baguio, Batangas, and Cebu.

GAFI’s visit to the Philippines is expected to enhance the economic exchanges between the Philippines and Egypt. There is likewise a proposal from the Philippine Embassy in Cairo to arrange a business mission for Egyptian Chamber of Commerce in the future. END
