PH Consulate General in Dubai, Filipino Community Celebrates Independence Day
DUBAI 20 July 2018 – The Philippine Consulate in Dubai, in cooperation with various Filipino Community organizations in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, celebrated the 120th Philippine Independence Day at Dubai World Trade Center on 15 June 2018.
Over 40,000 members of the Filipino community in Dubai and Northern Emirates attended the event.
Consul General in Dubai Paul Raymund P. Cortes delivered the inspirational message. Vice Governor Jeremias Singson of Ilocos Sur was also present at the event as the special guest of honor.
Among the segments of the celebration were On the Spot Painting Contest, Ukit Pinoy (Vegetable and Fruit Carving), Himig Handog, Hataw Pinoy, Battle of the Bands, of the Hiyas ng Pilipinas Pageant. A job fair was also held during the event.
ABS-CBN artists Martin Nievera and Arci Muñoz entertained the crowd with rendition of their most-requested songs. END
