HONOLULU 20 July 2018 – Philippine Navy Flag Officer in Command Vice Admiral Robert A. Empedrad, accompanied by Commodore Toribio Adaci Jr., visited the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu.
The Navy’s top brass is in Honolulu to observe the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Naval Exercises 2018.
According to Vice Admiral Empedrad, the RIMPAC provides an excellent opportunity for Philippine Navy sailors and Marines to work with their counterparts from different countries in realistic military exercises. The RIMPAC strengthens capability of each participant and enhances interoperability.
The Philippine Navy deployed two ships, the BRP Davao del Sur and the BRP Ramon Alcaraz, a military helicopter, and about 700 personnel to participate in RIMPAC 2018. END
