PH Assumes Chairmanship of ASEAN Committee in Mexico

MEXICO CITY 20 July 2018 – The Philippines has assumed its six-month chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Mexico City (ACMC).
As chair, Philippine Ambassador to Mexico Demetrio R. Tuason will spearhead the Philippine Embassy in Mexico’s planned ASEAN activities for the coming months, which will include the ASEAN Day celebration on 08 August 2018, an ASEAN Business Forum in Monterrey, an ASEAN lecture at a prestigious Mexican university, and the organization of the annual ASEAN Bazaar in Mexico City.
The goal of the ACMC, one of the 53 formally established and endorsed ASEAN Committees in Third Countries and International Organizations around the world, is to promote ASEAN´s interests and identity in Mexico.
The ACMC is composed of the Embassies of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. END
