Finance Secretary Dominguez Attends Brunei Sultan’s 72nd Birthday

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 23 July 2018 – Finance Secretary Carlos G. Dominguez III and spouse Cynthia A. Dominguez attended the 72nd birthday of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, in ceremonies held at the Taman Haji Sir Omar Ali Saifuddien and Istana Nurul Iman on 15 July 2018.
Secretary Dominguez had an audience with the Sultan at Istana Nurul Iman in the afternoon of July 15, where he conveyed the birthday wishes of President Rodrigo Duterte and the Filipino people.
Aside from Secretary and Mrs. Dominguez, royalties and selected high-ranking government officials from various countries also attended the celebration including Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Mohd Shafie bin Haji Apdal; Deputy Chief Minister, Minister of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development and Second Minister for Urban Development, and Natural Resources of Sarawak Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah bin Ali Hassan; Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of Indonesia Dr. H. Wiranto; Minister for Social and Family Development, and Second Minister in the Ministry of National Development of Singapore Desmond Lee; Thai Chief of Defense Force General Dato Paduka Seri Tarnchaiyan Srisuwan; and Indonesian Chief of Defense Force Air Chief Marshal TNI Dato Paduka Seri Hadi Tjahjanto.
The Philippine Embassy led by Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Pete Raymond V. Delfin, in coordination with Brunei government representatives, assisted Secretary and Mrs. Dominguez throughout their visit to Brunei Darussalam. END
