PH Embassy in Athens Joins Observance of 40th National Disability Week

ATHENS 24 July 2018 — The Philippine Embassy in Athens commemorated the 40th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week during its monthly Filipino community meeting on 14 July 2018.
The Filipino community leaders joined Embassy officials, led by Consul Judy Barbara G. Robianes, in making the “Panata ng Isang Tagapagtaguyod ng Karapatan at Pribilehiyo ng mga Maykapansanan.”
As part of the meeting’s agenda, Embassy Chargé d’ Affaires, a.i. Rosario P. Lemque discussed the importance of observing the 2018 NDPR Week. Welfare Officer Rosalia Bahia-Catapang also discussed the disability benefits offered by the Overseas Workers Welfare Association (OWWA) to its members.
A short campaign video by the Asia Foundation and Unilab Foundation was also played during the meeting, to encourage the leaders to support the “May 1% Ka Ba?” campaign of employing more Persons with Disabilities in government positions. END
