YANGON 27 July 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Yangon recently participated in the AIESEC Global Village, a multicultural event organized to increase the knowledge of AIESEC student volunteers and interns to other cultures through the different countries’ booths.

The Embassy’s booth featured Philippine dishes such as banana chips, dried mangoes, biko and palitaw. Souvenir luggage tags of Boracay and Iloilo, as well as tourism brochures, were given away courtesy of the Tourism Promotions Board.

Held once a year, the Global Village, plays a major role in creating the culture of mutual respect, inclusiveness, peace, and harmony through the diversity of nationalities.

AIESEC is the world's largest international youth-led organization working towards peace and fulfillment of mankind's potential by activating leadership in the youth through challenging, practical and global experiences, with the belief that youth leadership is not an option but a responsibility.

Aside from the Philippines, the event was also participated in by 11 other countries: Australia, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Portugal, Singapore, and Vietnam.

Princess Jescelle Clavo, an incoming fourth year Civil Engineering student from the University of Santo Tomas, was the only exchange participant from the Philippines. She prepared a tourism presentation for the audience as her cultural performance. END
