PH Embassy in Cairo Participates in ASEAN Badminton Tournament

CAIRO 30 July 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Cairo took part in the 2018 ASEAN Committee in Cairo (ACC) Badminton Tournament at the Nasr City Sporting Club on 21 July 2018, hosted by the Embassies of Indonesia and Malaysia.

Embassy Attachés Ma. Cecile B. Albano and Marco Antonio Angelo S. Santos both placed third in their respective categories, with their co-players.

In his opening remarks, ACC Chair and Brunei Ambassador Mustapa Aliuddin thanked the participants and organizers, and wished all the players success and enjoyment.

The competition included a singles match for Ambassadors, and mixed doubles for men and women. For the mixed doubles matches, the participants were paired with players from other ASEAN Missions.

The badminton tournament was intended to promote friendship and strengthen solidarity within the ASEAN diplomatic community in Cairo. END
