MOSCOW 30 July 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Moscow provided assistance to another Filipino working in Moscow who recently suffered from a stroke and is presently admitted at a public hospital in the city.
Ambassador to Moscow Carlos D. Sorreta personally visited the Filipino to give his assurance of the government’s support with regard to his hospitalization expenses, and encouragement for the patient’s full recovery.
Ambassador Sorreta also met with the patient’s attending physician, and the head of the department which currently provides the Filipino’s medication and physical therapy. The Ambassador thanked the doctors for their care and attention to the Filipino, and for the hospital administration’s smooth cooperation with the Embassy.
In 2018 alone, the Embassy in provided medical assistance—including in-patient and outpatient treatment—to an average of one Filipino every month. This constitutes a significant increase in the number of Filipinos seeking aid for various health conditions, ranging from trauma injuries to life-threatening illnesses.
The Embassy receives most of its information regarding nationals in medical distress from concerned members of the Filipino Community in Russia, including relatives and friends. END
