PH Embassy in Greece Conducts Consular Outreach, Overseas Voter Registration in Cyprus

ATHENS CONSULAR 1

ATHENS 02 August 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Athens conducted a consular outreach overseas voter registration, and offered services from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and Pag-IBIG for Filipinos in Limassol, Cyprus on 21-22 July 2018.

The consular outreach team was led by Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Rosario P. Lemque, and was composed of Labor Attaché Melchor B. Dizon, Welfare Officer Rosalia Susana S. Bahia-Catapang, and Pag-IBIG Representative Jean V. Santos.

During the two-day mission, the consular outreach team processed 204 applications for renewal of passports, four replacement of lost passport, two report of marriage, one affidavit (Jurat), 114 applications for renewal of membership with the OWWA, and 159 applications for updating of Pag-IBIG contributions.

The mobile consular team also registered overseas voters for the 2019 national elections in the Philippines. During the mission, the team processed 105 applications for overseas voter registration and certification, four applications for transfer of voting records, nine applications for reactivation of overseas voting records, 22 applications for change of address, two applications for correction of entries, and two applications for biometrics recapture.

The consular outreach was successfully conducted with the support and cooperation of the POLO, OWWA, and Pag-IBIG Representatives in Athens, Greece, and the Filipino Community in Limassol. END
