PH Embassy in Canada Visits Iqaluit

OTTAWA 02 August 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa, led by Ambassador to Canada Petronila P. Garcia, visited Iqaluit, Nunavut from 27 to 29 July 2018 to meet with the Filipino Community and local officials.
There are around 185 Filipinos in the city, nearly half of whom work in the territorial government.
Ambassador Garcia met with Nunavut Premier Joe Savikataaq and Finance Minister George Hickes, who both praised the Filipinos in the territory for their hard work, dependability, and contributions to Nunavut’s development.
Iqaluit Mayor Madeleine Redfern likewise met with Ambassador Garcia to welcome her to the city.
The Embassy team also provided consular services to members of the Filipino Community during the visit. END
