19 December 2013 - On December 08, Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz and Cultural Officer, Ms. Gladys O. Perey, attended the thanksgiving celebration of the Jesus Christ Foundation Church, one of the Christian Groups organized by Filipino migrants in Lebanon. The celebration was held at the Evangelical Church of God in Achrafieh, Beirut.  Members of the  Jesus Christ Foundation Church of God Antelias rendered songs and dances and offered prayers during the celebration, while Guest Pastor Joy Mallouh delivered a message.

After the prayers and performances, Cultural Officer Perey delivered a message on behalf of Ambassador Ruiz.  Ms. Perey conveyed the encouragement of Ambassador Ruiz for the group to regularly meet to pray together in order to nourish their spiritual life and strengthen and support each other.  Ms. Perey also conveyed the Ambassador’s request for the group’s officers and  members to always read the announcements and advisories of the Embassy in its Facebook page to keep them updated on matters that may concern them particularly with regard to the security situation in the country.
