MOSCOW 09 August 2018 – Top executives from Exim Pacific LLC—one of the leading Russian importers of food products from Southeast Asia, China and Japan—visited the Philippine Embassy in Moscow on 01 August 2018, to express their strong interest to introduce Philippine products to the Russian market.
Exim Pacific’s Chief Executive Officer Denis Gisov and Development Director Andrey Vagin was warmly welcomed by Ambassador to Russia Carlos D. Sorreta and the Embassy’s Economic Team, led by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Jeffrey Valdez and Commercial Counsellor Kristine C. Umali.
Exim Pacific reached out to the Embassy to discuss their strong interest to import and promote Philippine mangoes, particularly the Guimaras variety.
The Russian company said that while processed mango products from the Philippines such as dried mangoes and mango juice are currently available in Russia, fresh Philippine mangoes are absent from supermarket shelves.
It is currently importing fresh mangoes from a different Southeast Asian source, but their research pointed to Philippine varieties as being among the sweetest and most flavorful. They are keen on developing long-term relationships with Philippine suppliers for a year-round supply.
“Many have described our mangoes as the best in the world,” Ambassador Sorreta said during the meeting. “We will work closely with you to ensure that Russian consumers have access to the best products,” the Ambassador added.
The Russian importers also wanted to discuss other Philippine food products, and Ambassador Sorreta took the opportunity to present samples of different export-quality products such as coconut flour and coconut sugar, banana chips, coffee, chocolates and canned seafood.
According to the company, Philippine sauces, condiments and mixes are very interesting, and fits perfectly into their product range.
Exim Pacific was established in 2008, and has grown into the leading distributor of Southeast Asian products in Russia.
The company works with the major retailers and institutional clients in Russia to bring Asian flavors to consumers across the country. END
