MOSCOW 10 August 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Russia’s Cultural Performing Group (PECPG) once again fascinated Muscovites at the Third Indonesian Festival, held at the Krasnaya Presnya Park in Moscow on 04 August 2018.
The Embassy’s performing group performed bulaklakan, banga and tinikling—three of the most popular folk dances of the Philippines.
“Once again our very talented members of the PECPG wowed their audience with their artistry, grace, charms and finesse at the Indonesian Festival in Moscow. The audience simply loved their performance and applauded them loudly and enthusiastically. Our performers have again done our country proud here in Russia,” said Ambassador to Russia Carlos S. Sorreta.
The PECPG was established in 2016 as the Embassy’s cultural diplomacy arm, with volunteers from the Filipino Community in Moscow.
Since its founding, the group have performed in various events organized or participated in by the Embassy, such as the First Philippine Street Festival (2016), International Women’s Club Bazaar (2016), Philippine Week at the State Darwin Museum (2016), and ASEAN Day Reception (2017). END
