19 December 2013 - Filipino human rights leader Mary Aileen Díez Bacalso, Secretary General of the Asian Federation Against Involuntary Disappearances, was bestowed the prestigious Emilio F. Mignone International Human Rights Award last December 10 at the Argentine Foreign Ministry during a ceremony presided by Argentine Foreign Minister Hector Timerman. Among the guests were Argentina's Secretary of Human Rights of the Nation, the family of Emilio F. Mignone, the Argentine human rights advocate after whom the award was named, representatives of the different human rights movements in Argentina, and members of the diplomatic corps, including Philippine Ambassador to Argentina Rey A. Carandang. END
