Jollibee Canada Acknowledged at Queen’s Park

TORONTO 15 August 2018 – Toronto’s provincial parliament acknowledged the presence of the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto’s officers and staff, led by Consul General Rosalita S. Prospero and Jollibee’s officers and staff before the session of the provincial parliament at Queen’s Park Legislative Building on 08 August 2018.

Also present during the session were Senior Trade Representative Ma. Roseni Alvero, Minister and Consul Edna May Grecia-Lazaro, and personnel from the Consulate General’s Trade Section.

The Jollibee team and the Consulate General’s representatives were in Parliament upon the invitation of Provincial Member of Parliament (MP) Nina Tangri, representing the riding of Mississauga-Streetsville.

MP Tangri and Premier Doug Ford visited Jollibee’s second store in Toronto located at Seafood City in Mississauga on 29 July 2018. They were warmly welcomed by Jollibee’s service crew.

She congratulated Jollibee on the successful opening of its second branch in the Greater Toronto Area, also the fourth Jollibee branch in the whole of Canada.

After the session at parliament, members of the majority party proceeded to the Government Caucus room to partake of the famous Jollibee offerings of Chicken Joy, mashed potatoes with gravy, and peach mango pie. They also get to meet Jollibee, the food giant’s mascot.

The first Jollibee branch in Canada opened in Winnipeg in December 2016, while the second branch, also located in Winnipeg, opened soon after in 2017. The third Jollibee branch opened in April 2018 in Scarborough, while the fourth branch in Mississauga opened in June of this year.

Jollibee executives announced that they plan to open more Jollibee stores in the course of the next five years across Canada. END
