PH Embassy Hosts 51st ASEAN Day Celebration in Mexico

MEXICO 20 August 2018 – As chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Committee in Mexico City (ACMC), Philippine Ambassador to Mexico Demetrio R. Tuason hosted the 51st ASEAN Day celebration in Mexico at his residence on 08 August 2018.
In his speech, Ambassador Tuason highlighted the close political, economic, and socio-cultural relationship between ASEAN member states, and promised to work towards greater ASEAN-Mexico relations during the Philippines’ six-month chairmanship of the ACMC.
The ASEAN Day celebration, which was attended by Ambassadors and officials of all the ASEAN Embassies in Mexico as well as by Director General for Asia and the Pacific Alfonso De Maria y Campos of the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, also included the singing of the ASEAN hymn.
The ASEAN Day commemoration ended with a potluck lunch featuring traditional cuisine from the ASEAN region. END
