PH Participants Finish Comprehensive Security Responses to Terrorism Course in Hawaii

HONOLULU 22 August 2018 — Six participants from the Philippine military and civilian agencies in the Philippines graduated from the Daniel K. Inouye—Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI-APCSS) Comprehensive Security Responses to Terrorism Course (CSRT 18-1) on 08 August.

The six participants include Lt. Commander Jobina Antonia M. Salvosa, Lt. Col. Ferdinand Lizano Marcelino, Mr. Benito Ciriaco Garcia Se, Jr., Lt. Commander Roselle A. Abud, Lt. Col. Billy O. Dela Rosa, INF (GSC) and Maj. Don Raphael Cervantes representing the Philippine Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

Lt. Col. Marcelino gave the commencement address on behalf of the 104 graduates from 45 countries.

The CSRT course focuses on the concept of modern terrorism, its patterns in the Asia-Pacific, causes and strategies of various groups, prevention, and response. The course enables participants to share their experiences, and build relationships that would enhance the region’s capability to fight terrorism.

The CSRT 18-1 course ran from 12 July to 08 August, and included participants from a diversity of nations including, Afghanistan, Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Oman, Japan, Mexico, Spain, India, and the United States. END
