DTI Undersecretary Calls On Brunei’s Deputy Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 23 August 2018 – Philippine Trade and Industry Undersecretary Abdulgani M. Macatoman made a courtesy call on Brunei’s Deputy Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw at the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry in Bandar Seri Begawan on 09 August 2018.
Members of the Philippine delegation accompanying Undersecretary Macatoman during the meeting included Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Pete Raymond V. Delfin, Philippine Trade and Investment Centre-Singapore Commercial Counsellor Maria Cynthia B. Ricafort, Department of Foreign Affairs Director Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian, Labor Attaché Melissa C. Mendizabal, Halal Section-Export Marketing Bureau Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Raison D. Arobinto, and Undersecretary Macatoman Technical Assistant Hafidah B. Macadaya.
During the courtesy call, Undersecretary Macatoman expressed his appreciation to Deputy Minister Dato Matsatejo for Brunei’s excellent and warm hospitality to the Philippine delegation. In response, Deputy Minister Dato Matsatejo conveyed his appreciation to the Philippine delegation for its participation in the Brunei Halal Showcase (BruHAS) 2018, as well as the successful conclusion of the first Joint Committee Meeting (JCM) to facilitate the implementation of the Philippines-Brunei MOU on Halal Industry and Halal Export Development and Promotion.
Deputy Minister Dato Matsatejo also expressed his appreciation to overseas Filipino workers in Brunei for their substantial contribution to the economic and cultural development of the country. Undersecretary Macatoman, in response, thanked the Brunei Government for hosting the 22,000-strong Filipino Community in Brunei Darussalam. END
