PH Consul General in LA Joins Observance of 40th National Disability Week

LOS ANGELES 23 August 2018 – The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles commemorated the 40th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NPDR) Week at its Community Hall during the flag ceremony held before the start of consular services on 17 July 2018.
After the flag ceremony, Consul Ambrosio Brian F. Enciso III gave a brief introduction on the significance of the celebration of the NDPR, and its theme “Kakayahan at Kasanayan Para Sa Kabuhayan Tungo sa Kaunlaran.”
According to Consul Encisco, the last 39 years had shown growing awareness on Disability Rights Advocacy as participation from all sectors increases.
The Consulate General encouraged the community to get involved and to become partners in the campaign to promote awareness on the problems on disability, and to take active responsibility in addressing these issues. It has also asked the audience to join in making the Loyalty Pledge of an Advocate of the Rights of the Persons with Disabilities. END
