PH Embassy in Tehran Celebrates Buwan ng Wika with Film Screening of “Ano Ang Kulay Ng Mga Nakalimutang Pangarap?”
TEHRAN 03 September 2018 – In celebration of the Buwan ng Wika, the Philippine Embassy in Tehran held a special screening of the film “Ano Ang Kulay Ng Mga Nakalimutang Pangarap?” (What Are The Colors Of Forgotten Dreams?), a poignant 2013 drama by critically-acclaimed director Jose Javier Reyes.
The feature film tells the story of Teresa, a nanny in her twilight years, who has dedicated a life of service to a family at the expense of her own happiness.
Ambassador to Iran Wilfredo C. Santos welcomed and addressed members of the Filipino Community who attended the event. He reminded the attendees of the central role of the Filipino language in the identity of the Filipino people and destiny of the Philippines.
“Ang Wika ay isang importanteng bahagi ng ating Kultura at pamumuhay. Ang wika ay siyang behikulo na magiging giya upang matiyak natin at mabuo ang ating karakter, kaugalian at lahi na siyang kasangkapan upang ating mabuo, mapagsama-sama at mapag-sa, bilang mamamayang Pilipino sa nag-iisang bansa,” Ambassador Santos said in his remarks.
Ambassador Santos also took the opportunity to introduce the newest member of the Embassy, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Siegfred T. Masangkay, and announce the upcoming departure of Administrative Officer Florencio Ilagan Jr. END
