PH Consul General Joins Chicago Mabuhay Centennial Lions Club Anniversary

CHICAGO 03 September 2018 — The Chicago Mabuhay Centennial Lions Club (CMCLC) held its first anniversary and Youth Achievers Awards Night at the Monty’s Elegant Banquets in Bensenville, Illinois on 18 August 2018.

Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin delivered an inspirational message, encouraging Filipinos to increase the level of cooperation between the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago and the Filipino Community in terms of promoting programs, such as the dual citizenship and overseas voting, tourism and investment promotions.

The Consul General added that the involvement of the community in campaigns for local elected officials can enhance the social, economic and political development in the Philippines, and advance the relations with the United States.

The CMCLC, also gave out young Achiever Award led by Lions Club International Cabinet Secretary Brenda Block, and Consul General Jamoralin.

This year’s awardees are Maria De Leon, Seri Pamelar Cho, Victoria Pudussery and Jericho Dizon.

Since its inception in 2017, the CMCLC aims to provide an active role in the task of building a strong, cohesive and empowered Filipino-American Community in the U.S. CMCLC is headed by its Charter President Ms. Nelia Ladlad. END
