OTTAWA 04 September 2018 – The officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa and their families participated in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Picnic 2018, held at the Vincent Massey Park in Ottawa on 18 August 2018.
As chair of the ASEAN Committee in Ottawa (ACO), the Brunei High Commission spearheaded the preparation for the picnic.
Aside from the officers and staff of ACO Missions and their respective family members, officials from Global Affairs Canada participated in the activities and joined the games.
Philippine First Secretary Jeffrey Salik was part of the team that won the first prize for the “Amazing Race” while Thailand won the tug-of-war, the highlight of the games.
The ACO is composed of the seven ASEAN member states with diplomatic missions in Ottawa, namely Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam and the Philippines. END
