PH Consulate General in Xiamen Celebrates National Heroes Day with Exhibit on Great Heroes

XIAMEN 04 September 2018 – In celebration of the 2018 National Heroes Day (“Pambansang Araw ng mga Bayani”), the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen launched the “Unveiling of Portraits of Our Great Forebears” exhibit at the Consulate General’s Sentro Rizal Hall on 16 August 2018.

Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores led the unveiling of the 10 portraits of Philippines’ great heroes, together with special guests Manila Xiamen International School Chairman Roman Go, ETON Properties (Xiamen) Ltd. General Manager Benito Choa, and Filipino Association in Xiamen President Eric Dychauco.

The event was attended by members and officers of the Filipino Community, faculty members of the Manila Xiamen International School, Consulate General officers and staff, and other guests and contacts.

Consul General Flores commended Project Saysay, the main proponent of the heroes’ portraits, for its youth-led advocacy to spread the ideals and values of great Filipino forebears by generating relevant, useful, and inspiring communication materials that are sourced from the rich annals of Philippine history.
