19 December 2013 - Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores launched on December 07 the official 2013 Christmas greeting cards of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen on the occasion of the annual Christmas celebration of the Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX).  The original artworks, displayed onstage, proudly featured Filipino Christmas-themed oil paintings by artists Aris Bagtas and Dale Bagtas.

The Consul General commended FAX for their noble effort in contributing to solidifying Filipinos through the annual Christmas celebration.  He also thanked the local Chinese and expatriate communities for celebrating Christmas with the Filipino community.

Over 360 guests, including Consulate General officers and staff led by the Consul General attended the FAX event, themed, “It’s a Cowboy Christmas: Go West 2013”.

Following up on their “One Cause One Heart” fund raising drive for victims of the recent earthquake to hit the Visayas and super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), FAX announced that as of that evening, the organization has received a total of RMBY66,705.00 (approx. US$10,930.00) in cash donations.  The organization will conclude its fundraising drive a week after the Christmas celebration and remit the money to the Philippine National Red Cross.  END
