PH Embassy in Rome Exhibits Filipino Heroes' Wisdom, Portraits for Nat’l Heroes Day

ROME 05 September 2018 – In commemoration of National Heroes Day, the Philippine Embassy in Rome and Sentro Rizal Rome launched an exhibit of portraits and inspiring quotes of Filipino heroes and nation-builders at the Embassy chancery during the special flag raising ceremony for the occasion on 28 August 2018.
Ambassador to Italy Domingo P. Nolasco expressed his hopes that the lives and words of the Filipino heroes would serve as inspiration to the Filipino Community in Italy. He urged the Filipino Community to emulate the Philippines' national heroes and contribute to nation-building.
The portraits were provided by Project Saysay, a youth-led advocacy in the Philippines that aims to spread the values and ideals of great Filipinos by generating useful and inspiring communication materials sourced from history.
Great Filipinos that were in the exhibit were Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, Hadji Butu, Gregoria De Jesus, Gliceria Marella de Villavicencio, Clemencia Lopez, Graciano Lopez Jaena, Antonio Luna, and Mariano Ponce.
The activity is part of the cultural and public diplomacy program of the Embassy and the Sentro Rizal Rome branch. END
