NEW YORK 06 September 2018 – Showcasing the best of Filipino products, food, destinations, and performances, the 20th edition of the Fiesta in America (FIA) Expo and Cultural Show opened at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Seacaucus, New Jersey on 11-12 August 2018.

 “It is my hope that in the next two decades, the Fiesta in America will continue to flourish,” Consul General to New York Claro S. Cristobal said as he expressed his congratulations to the founder.

Mayors and Assemblypersons from the New Jersey cities of Seacaucus, Bergenfield, Bloomfield, Edison, Jersey City, and Mahwah attended the event opening.

The Department of Trade and Industry brought 20 micro-, small- and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs) from eight provinces in the Philippines to showcase their export products.

The companies include Cavite’s Epicurian Gourmet Foods and Olivia’s Coffee Seed Corporation, Ilocos Sur’s Rowilda’s Loomweaving, Leyte’s Lolo Bobby Handicrafts, Psalmstre Enterprises from Manila, Amstature Foods from Quezon Province, Mayon Perfection Confectionary from Naga City, Samar’s Eva Marie Arts & Crafts, and Ma. Delza’s Native Products. Meanwhile, from General Santos City: RDEX Foods, Sweet Valley Pasalubong, Seabest Food and Beverage, Great Harvest, Century Pacific Venture, Kablon Farm Foods, Ellyne’s Pasalubong, SAFI Group of Companies, SOCSKSARGEN Fishing and Allied Industries, GenSan Travel and Tours, and Treasures of Region 12 Pasalubong Center.

The Department of Tourism-New York, led by Tourism Representative Susan Del Mundo, promoted culinary tourism to the Philippines, and the reopening of the island paradise of Boracay in October.

The Philippine Consulate General in New York offered overseas voting registration to qualified applicants during the event. END
