PH Ambassador Presents Credentials to Czech President

PRAGUE 06 September 2018 – The new Philippine Ambassador to Prague Ombra T. Jainal presented his credentials to Czech President Milos Zeman, at the Prague Castle on 22 August 2018.
Ambassador Jainal presented his Letters of Credence and the Letter of Recall of his predecessor to President Zeman, and conveyed the warm greetings of President Rodrigo Duterte. Upon acceptance, the Czech President welcomed the Ambassador to Prague and commented that two-thirds of the Embassy staff were women and that the Philippines is progressive.
Ambassador Jainal introduced to the Czech President his wife Elsie Jainal and members of his delegation, namely First Secretary and Consul Juan E. Dayang Jr. and Attachés Gracia R. Perenyi and Glea P. Saunar.
The Ambassador was a practicing lawyer in the Philippines, who once served as Solicitor-General of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. He was appointed by President Duterte in November 2017 and was confirmed by the Commission on Appointments in February this year. He and his wife Elsie have nine children who are all professionals.
The previous ambassadors of the Philippines to Czech Republic include Carmelita Salas, Regina Sarmiento, Evelyn Austria-Garcia and Victoriano Lecaros. The resident Embassy was established in 1997. This year marks the 45th anniversary of Philippine-Czech formal diplomatic relations. END
