BANGKOK 07 September 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, represented by Cultural Officer and Attachè Edith Mallillin, participated in the Foster Child Care Project event of the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) held at the YWCA Office in Sathorn Road, Bangkok on 18 August 2018.

The event is organized every year to coincide with the Thai National Mothers’ Day celebration, which is also in commemoration of Queen Sirikit’s birthday. Spouses of Heads of Missions and or their representatives attended the event and were given the opportunity to meet their designated foster children and also to hand over certificates to students who have been awarded with scholarships.

The Foster Child Care Project, which grants poor children in Thailand free education and other related benefits, is one of YWCA beneficiaries. It receives financial support from the funds raised during the diplomatic charity bazaar organized yearly by YWCA, in collaboration with the foreign diplomatic missions in Bangkok. END
