PH Consulate General in Chicago Conducts Second Saturday Consular Outreach in North Chicago for 2018

CHICAGO 10 September 2018 — As part of its continuing efforts to bring its services closer to the Filipino community on weekends, the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, in continuation conducted its second Saturday consular outreach services in Seafood City Supermarket in Chicago on 01 September 2018.

A team from the Consulate General—led by Consul Ericka Anna T. Abad—rendered a total of 82 services including passport application, reacquisition or retention of Philippine citizenship, civil registration, notarials, and overseas voting registration.

The outreach activity was held in cooperation with the California and Chicago-based management of Seafood City.

The first Saturday consular outreach was also held at Seafood City on 02 June 2018.

In pursuit of its continuing partnership with the Consulate General, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)—represented by Ms. Kate Gianopulos—supported the Consulate General’s weekend outreach by attending the event and entertaining queries from applicants on workers’ rights and employers’ responsibilities.

For the first time, three lawyer-members of Chicago’s Filipino American Lawyers Association namely Atty. Winnalyn Kantaris, Atty. Janice Dantes, and Atty. Reynard Tanig partnered with the Consula General and Seafood City Supermarket to inform the public about FALA’s pro bono legal services. END
