Dr. Susan Mercado Presents WHO Regional Director Candidature with Brunei’s Health Minister

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 11 September 2018 – President Rodrigo Duterte’s Special Envoy for Global Health Initiatives Dr. Susan P. Mercado met with Brunei Health Minister Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar at the Ministry of Health (MoH) on 01 September 2018.
Dr. Mercado was accompanied by Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam’s Third Secretary and Vice Consul Jaybee B. Arguillas, and Economic and Political Assistant Frederick A. Rili during the meeting.
Minister Dato Isham welcomed Dr. Mercado’s nomination and conveyed Brunei’s support to the Philippines’ bid as Regional Director to the World Health Organization-Western Pacific Regional Office.
For her part, Dr. Mercado expressed her appreciation to Minister Dato Isham for Brunei’s positive response to the Philippines’ candidature. She also thanked the Embassy for assisting her during her visit to Brunei Darussalam.
The MoH Officials who were also present during the meeting include Acting Director General of Medical and Health Services Dr. Pg Hj Md Khalifah bin Pg Ismail, Director of Policy and Planning Hjh Zahrah binti DP Hj Md Hashim, Special Duties Officer II Faisal bin DP Hj Kamis, Health Education Officer Pg Hj Md Raizul Amir bin Pg Hj Idros, and Public Health Officer Dk Fathin Nabilah binti Pg Hj Damit.
