The first to be held in the country, Bahrain becoming a SPLE testing center is the initiative of Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver, and Labor Attaché Vicente M. Cabe in response to the increasing demand of many professional groups to afford skilled Filipino workers the opportunity to acquire professional licenses.
This is likewise a pro-active move, inasmuch as the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain plans to institute stricter regulations for those without the appropriate professional licenses and credentials.
A total of 231 examinees from 15 professional fields including Architecture,Certified Public Accountant, Civil Engineer, Dentist, Electrical Engineer, Electronics Engineer, Electronics Technician, Environmental Planner, Geodetic Engineer, Master Electrician, Master Plumber, Nurse, Mechanical Engineer, Elementary Education and Secondary Education, took the grueling examination.
Two officers of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Officer-in-Charge Director of Planning Management and Finance Services Jane R. Seveses, and Board Secretary Rosewyndaluz G. Gascon supervised the conduct of the SPLE. They noted the smooth and problem-free conduct of the examinations, considering that this was the first time that it was held in Bahrain.
To ensure the integrity of SPLE, a total of 27 room watchers/ proctors and seven support personnel mostly composed of Embassy and POLO-OWWA staff, and PSB teachers were deployed during the three-day SPLE.
Prior to the actual SPLE, all examinees attended the Document Validation and Issuance of Notice of Admission on 21-22 August 2018 at the Embassy. They were thoroughly briefed on the mechanics of the examination and the set of behavior expected of examinees.
The Philippine Professional Organization (PPO), the umbrella organization of all professional groups headed by its Chairman, Michael D.
