20 December 2013 - The book, "Art as Reality: The Transition of Filipino Migrant Children in the Middle East," won the Best Journalism Award - Book Category by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO).

The book, published in June 2013 by the Philippine Embassy in Muscat, Oman, is a collection of essays and artworks depicting transition by young children of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the Gulf Region. It was cited for "having raised public awareness on issues on Filipino migration, and promoted a positive image of Filipinos overseas, migration and development."

Former Philippine Ambassador to Oman and now Assistant Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Policy Planning Office, Joselito A. Jimeno, and Mrs. Araceli C. Jimeno, who was the book’s editor, received the award during the International Migrants Day celebration on December 18 at the SSS Ramon Magsaysay Hall, Quezon City.  END
