Knights of Rizal Visits San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO 17 September 2018 — A delegation from the Knights of Rizal, headed by Supreme Commander Elihu Ybañez paid a courtesy call at the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco on 05 September 2018 and Daly City Mayor Juslyn Manalo on 06 September 2018.

The courtesy calls aim to share the goals and ideals of the Knights of Rizal, as part of their visit in San Francisco, California from 03 to 07 September 2018.

The Delegation conferred the Honorary Rank of Knight Commander upon California State Senator Scott Weiner at ceremonies held in his San Francisco office on 04 September. 

They also visited Rizal Street in San Francisco and Palace Hotel, which contains a marker of Dr. Jose Rizal, to commemorate his brief stay there in 1888.

The visit followed the convening of the 7th Knights of Rizal USA Regional Assembly in Las Vegas, Nevada from 31 August to 02 September 2018.

The Knights of Rizal is a non-profit, public corporation founded to propagate the ideals and teachings of Philippine national hero Dr. Jose Rizal. The Order was established in 1911 and formalized its status upon the passage of Republic Act 646 in 1951.

Its membership is composed of leaders, professionals, businessmen, and academicians, with a worldwide membership of about 12,000. END
