PH Ambassador to Indonesia Awards Cash Incentives to Pinoy Gold Medalists in Asian Games 2018

JAKARTA 18 September 2018 – In a ceremony held in Malacañan Palace on 12 September 2018, Ambassador to Indonesia Leehiong T. Wee awarded P1 million cash incentive to each of the four Philippine gold medalists in the recently-concluded 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia.
The four gold medalists who received the P1 million cash incentive from Ambassador Wee include Hidilyn Diaz for weightlifting, Margielyn Didal for skateboarding, Yuka Saso for golf, and the women’s golf team composed of Ms. Saso, Lois Kaye Go, and Bianca Pagdanganan.
Ambassador Wee expressed his profound congratulations to the gold medalists, and thanked them for the pride and honor that they have given to the country and Philippine sports.
The Ambassador hoped that their victory will inspire others, particularly the youth, as it highlighted importance of discipline and perseverance in achieving goals. He said that their victory will inspire the youth to veer away from drug addiction and other social ills. END
