ASEAN Committee in Islamabad Commemorates 51st ASEAN Day

ISLAMABAD 19 September 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Islamabad participated in the 51st ASEAN Day organized by the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI), held on 13 September 2018 at the Royal Thai Embassy in the Pakistani capital.
The commemorative program was headlined by the keynote speech of Pakistan National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri as the chief guest.
As part of the commemorative activities, each ASEAN member state exhibited their local arts, handicrafts and other local products, and showcased their national dishes and cuisines.
A cultural presentation by each ACI mission capped the program, which was attended by about 300 guests.
The ACI is composed of the Embassies or High Commissions of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Malaysia currently holds the rotating chairmanship of the ACI. END
