LONDON 25 September 2018 — The Philippine Embassy in London continues to undertake opportunities to provide strong Philippines and the United Kingdom ties on 13 September 2018.
This time, it was the All Party Parliamentary Group for the Philippines (APPG-PH), an informal group of parliamentary members, which the Embassy reached out to recently.
The meeting was conducted upon the invitation of APPG-PH Chair Sir David Ames MP.
“These are interesting times for Philippine-British relations,” Ambassador Antonio M. Lagdameo said. “By collaborating closely with each other and by nourishing Philippine-British ties, we will be able to seize various opportunities that both countries can significantly benefit from.”
During the meeting, the Ambassador and the APPG-PH members discussed possible activities to strengthen the ties between the two countries on various aspects. The parties noted the successful reciprocal visit conducted last year by an official delegation from the Senate of the Philippines led by Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III.
The members of the APPG-PH expressed their desire to conduct more regular and frequent parliamentary exchanges between the Philippines and the UK.
The Ambassador, who was accompanied by Philippine Embassy Political Officer Kristine Leilani R. Salle, also updated the APPG-PH members on the latest developments on Philippine-British bilateral issues and other issues of mutual concern. END
