PH Embassy Holds Cultural, Fellowship and Consular Programs for Filipinos in Turkey
ANKARA 26 September 2018 — The Philippine Embassy in Ankara hosted successful day-long activities on 16 September 2018 for the Filipino Community in Turkey, which was attended by over 150 Filipinos.
Activities held were the launching of Sentro Rizal projects including Project Saysay's showcase of eminent Filipinos, the Fifth Parol Festival Theme Contest, a fellowship program presided over by Filipino Jesuit Priest Father Henry Ponce, and the opening of the Embassy’s consular section for services.
Project Saysay aims to spread the values and ideas of eminent Filipinos to the present generation. It features direct quotes from ten great Filipinos in the nation’s history at the Embassy’s Sentro Rizal.

A Filipino-inspired mass were held at the Meryem Ana Church, located on the grounds of the Apostolic Nunciature. This was followed by Father Ponce’s talk to Overseas Filipino Workers in the Embassy. Father Ponce is the first Filipino Jesuit missionary to the Middle East based in Lebanon.
The Embassy also rendered consular services to Filipinos in Ankara. There were six passport renewal applications, four passports released, one passport extension, one notarization, 20 overseas voting registrations, 11 Embassy ID applications,12 Embassy IDs processed during the Sunday activity.
The next weekend service by the Embassy in Ankara is on Sunday, 30 September 2018. END
