PH Embassy in Paris Welcomes Filipino Students in France

PARIS 26 September 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Paris conducted an orientation seminar for Filipino students and CHED K-to-12 grantees on 08 September 2018.

The seminar was attended by Filipino students enrolled in various French universities such as Sciences Po, Université Paris-Sud, HEC Paris, ESSEC, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Paris School of Business, and Instituto Marangoni, among others.

Minister and Consul General Aileen S. Mendiola-Rau welcomed the students and briefed them on the different consular services that the Embassy provides. She also invited them to follow the Embassy’s Facebook page, Instagram, and Twitter accounts to help them up-to-date with all relevant information on Embassy events.

André Confiado of the Association of Filipino Students in France for Sciences Po alumni also gave a briefing about the association and gave salient points of the association’s student which provides practical tips on living as a student in France. An open forum followed both briefings.

The Embassy also invited the students to the concert by the University of the Philippines Singing Ambassadors at the American Cathedral of Paris on 20 September 2018. The students were also informed to look out for the launch of a commemorative book on Philippines-France Relations in December 2018.

This was the seventh seminar for students since it started in 2015. Over 60 cooperation agreements exist between Philippine and French academic institutions. This year, France welcomed almost 200 Filipino students. END
