PH Officials Attend 39th ASEAN Meeting on Drug Matters in Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 05 September 2018 – A Philippine delegation headed by Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Deputy Executive Director for Administration Assistant Secretary Walter P. Besas attended the 39th meeting of the ASEAN Senior Officials on Drug Matters (ASOD) held at The Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong, Bandar Seri Begawan from 27 to 30 August 2018.
The 39th ASOD meeting highlights the internal review of the ASEAN Work on Securing Communities Against Illicit Drugs 2016-2025, the 13th Senior Officials Meeting on Transnational Crime Plus 3 Working Group Meeting on Narcotics, Fifth ASOD-China Coordination Meeting, Seventh ASOD-Republic of Korea Coordination Meeting, and the Second ASOD-Russia Coordination Meeting.
Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Pete Raymond V. Delfin joined other members of Philippine delegation including DDB Deputy Executive Director for Operations Assistant Secretary Maria Belen Angelita V. Matibag, DDB Chief of Preventive Education, Training and Information Division Teresita C. Pineda, DDB OIC of Policy Studies, Research and Statistics Division Rebecca F. Arambulo, DDB Head–Executive Assistant Doris R. Dorigo, UP-ASEAN Training Center for Preventive Drug Education Director Francis Grace Duka-Pante, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director for Plans and Operations Service Maharani G. Tosoc, PDEA Director for Preventive Education and Community Involvement Service Donelyn M. Hemedez, and the Department of Health’s Head of the Capability Building Unit, Dangerous Drugs Abuse Prevention and Treatment Program Clara H. Fuderanan.
Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Muhd Shah Al-Islam, Deputy Secretary-General of the ASEAN Political Security Community Hoang Anh Tuan, members of the diplomatic corps in Brunei, and delegates from ASEAN Member States were also present during the event.
The 40th ASOD meeting will be held in Cambodia in 2019. END
