MOSCOW 09 October 2018 – In another edition of the “Kapihan sa Pasuguan”, the Philippine Embassy in Moscow organized a free seminar on women’s health issues for the benefit of the Filipino Community in Moscow.

Russian Academy of Sciences’ Gender Studies Department Senior Researcher Dr. Zoya Khotkina delivered a presentation that covered practical aspects of health and wellness, including mental health and sexually-transmitted diseases. He was assisted by Filipino PhD student Shyateza Razo who translated from Russian to Filipino.

“We have been handling a lot of medical cases in our assistance-to-nationals work in recent months so we decided to do a topic on health,” said Ambassador to Russia Carlos D. Sorreta.

“We chose to put an emphasis on women’s health because the Filipino Community here is comprised largely of women,” he added.

This is the fifth installment of Kapihan sa Pasuguan at the Embassy this year, following topics such as Russian laws on women, the Solo Parent Act, meeting with Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano, and developments in Marawi. END
