Filipino Volunteers Help Out in Greek Wildfire Ops
PHOTO: The Filipino Athens Volunteers, led by its Chairman and Coordinator Mariano P. Domingo Jr., participated in the Mati Wildfire Relief Operations after a wildfire destroyed the resort town of Mati in Greece on 23 July 2018.
The Filipino volunteers responded to a call from the Mati Relief Operations Headquarters, based at the former United States base in Nea Makri to send volunteers to help wildfire victims.
From 29 July to 13 September 2018, Filipino volunteers assisted in relief operations and were assigned different tasks involving sorting, and distribution of relief goods to wildfire victims.
The Filipino volunteers were joined by other volunteers from Germany, Spain, France, England, and other volunteer groups from all over Greece.
Greeks and other nationals at the relief operations base were very grateful to see Filipino volunteers helping. (Athens PE photos)
