SANTIAGO 18 October 2018 — The Philippine Embassy in Chile, which holds jurisdiction over neighboring Peru, conducted a consular outreach mission to serve its clientele of approximately 160 Filipino nationals working and residing in Lima on 28 September 2018.

More than 36 Filipino nationals benefited from the timely release of their passports and other legal documents. The consular mission was headed by Second Secretary and Consul Dennis John C. Briones and Consular Assistant Ms. Ferlina Camento.

The Embassy’s Filipino Coordinator Katbeth Kreimer also provided invaluable support in spreading news about the Embassy’s visit and arranging a venue for the activity.

The one-day outreach similarly served as an opportunity for the Embassy to register Filipinos working in Peru, accommodate Assistance-to-Nationals clients, and make important announcements to the community.

Equally important, the afternoon also served as a chance for the small community of Filipinos to share an informal luncheon, and reconnect with friends and family.

The recently concluded consular mission in Lima is the Embassy’s second mobile consular activity this year.  A prison visit to detained Filipinos in Peru is scheduled in December 2018 to distribute clothing, food, and other provisions in time for Christmas. END
