PH Honorary Consulate in Kyrgyzstan Inaugurated on the 26th Year of Diplomatic Ties
Ambassador to Pakistan Daniel R. Espiritu states that with the inauguration of the Honorary Consulate in Bishkek, the Philippines and Kyrgyzstan now have platforms to enhance relations between the two countries.

BISHKEK 21 October 2018 — The Philippine Embassy in Islamabad attended the inauguration of the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on 03 October 2018.
The Embassy in Islamabad has jurisdiction over Kyrgyzstan.
In their remarks, Ambassador to Pakistan Daniel R. Espiritu, Honorary Consul Dosmir Uzbekov and Kyrgyz Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Madamarov Azizbek highlighted the role of the new Consulate as a new platform for the further enhancement of the bilateral relationship of the two countries, particularly in the field of tourism, trade and investment, and protection of migrant Filipino workers in Kyrgyzstan.
The inauguration coincided with the celebration of the 26th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Kyrgyzstan. The bilateral relations between the two countries was formally established on 24 April 1992. As part of the countries’ relations, both have been engaging in trade since 2017.
Among the products that the Philippines has been exporting to Kyrgyzstan are gloves and mittens, line telephone sets with cordless headsets, electrical and electronic machinery, flywheels, and pulleys. Rubber threads and cords, photosensitive semiconductor devices and tobacco are imported to the Philippines.
Honorary Consul Dosmir Satarovich Uzbekov invited prominent officials from the Parliament, the Kyrgyz Government, members of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomatic corps, businessmen, and the Filipino Community. The inauguration was held at the Kyrgyz National Opera Ballet Theater.
There are about 60 Filipinos in Krygyzstan. Majority of them are professionals working as teachers, dentists, and businessmen. END
