PH Embassy, IOM Holds Forum for OFWs in Poland

WARSAW 23 October 2018 — With the aim of providing information to Filipinos in Poland, the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw, in partnership with International Organization for Migration (IOM), held a forum for the Filipino Community in Poland on 30 September 2018.
The event commenced with video showing of “RehaBinasyon” to raise the community awareness of members in the Philippine government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign. It was followed by video showing “Peace na Peace tayo” to inform the audience of the government’s effort in the peace process.
IOM Immigration specialist Konstanty Sawczenko discussed the process of legalization of the stay of foreigners in Poland from visa to citizenship. This consists of different types and samples of visas issued by Poland, the purpose of each visa, and border crossing procedures.
Mr. Sawczenko explained the three kinds of residence permits: temporary residence permit, permanent residence permit, and long term residence of the EU permit. He also enumerated the procedure for each permits, the required documents, and the corresponding fees.
He also informed the members of Filipino Community on Polish citizenship, granting and recognition of Polish citizenship and basic documents. END
