MOSCOW 11 October 2018 – As part of its cultural diplomacy initiatives through film, the Philippine Embassy in Moscow held a screening of the acclaimed film “Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulang” (Weighed But Found Wanting) which was released in 1974 and directed by the internationally-renowned filmmaker Lino Brocka on 08 October 2018.
The event was hosted by the Department of South-East Asian, Korean, and Mongolian Philology of the Institute of Asian and African Studies (IAAS) of the Moscow State University and organized with the support of Dr. Ekaterina Baklanova, Senior Researcher at the IAAS.
The film was presented by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Catherine Alpay and Cultural Attaché Mariane Vida Cara as part of the Embassy’s cultural diplomacy activities.
This is the third screening of a Philippine-produced film at MSU in 2018, after “Sonata” (2013) and “Ang Babae sa Likod ng Mambabatok.” END
